Next Vista Video Critique
Rainbow: http://www.nextvista.org/rainbows/
This video has a very boring Start and it is boring throughout. There was nothing grabbing my attention at any point in the video. I liked the arrow pointing to diagram as he was explaining. I liked how it came full circle by coming back to same pictures he started with. The resource page at the end was too quick and I had to go back and pause. He used qlipmedia.com, which is a resource I’d like to learn more about. I would improve this by possibly using some real video footage of a rainbow.
Gaming in the Classroom: http://www.nextvista.org/gaming-in-the-classroom/
This video was just a talking head. I realized that just having technology in the background doesn’t automatically make it a video about technology. It was very short only 34 seconds but realized that is long enough when it’s just one shot of one person speaking. I would improve this video with different images or video clips.
President Riddle 1: http://www.nextvista.org/president-riddle-1/
Finally a video that I can see being used in a classroom! It is short and sweet and grabs your attention right away. This video made me realize that it doesn’t take a lot to make a great video. The task was specific and he kept me engaged by showing different portions of the same image. I can see this being used as a riddle for the students to finish if they are done with work early. There is nothing I would change about this video.
